The weather lately has been rather wild,with lots of winds and rain,but hopefully,soon enough it will be more springlike.

Every Sunday there is farmers market in Prazeres- a destination drive for many ,looking for fresh local produce.It is always quite fun to go ther and wonder around.These visits inspire me to paint few little still lifes

One of the first paintings I have done in Madeira,mesmerised by its stunning sunsets.I t was a view from an apartment in Funchal,however if you keep looking right ,your eyes would meet a construction site.Thank God for artistic license.
Driving on the old roads in Madeira can be a challenge-steep and winding,but one is rewarded with amazing views and scenery.This is aview of Madalena Do Mar-a southshore village in Calheta,one of the sunniest places in Madeira.
Bird of Paradise is an official flower of Madeira.You can see these flowers all year around.In Portuguese "bird of paradise" flower called "estrelizia".Hope,I spelled this one right.
Madeira has many micro climates,and if you travel outside of Funchal or Calheta,you might need a jacket or a raincoat ,especially in the winter season.
Layers usually work the best.

Coffee here in Madeira is strong and flavourful and tastes great ,drunk from the orange porcelan cup.
The fruit looks a little bit like a passion fruit,but tastes like tomato. Does anyone knows its name?
I live in Florencas,just above the Levada Nova-a very popular place for tourist walks.We have a wonderful lady neigbour who always shares her homegrown fruits and vegetables with us.
