FAIRTALE HOUSE IN SANTANA:A PAINTING FROM MADEIRA



In a region called Santana,there are these cute, fairtale look alike houses with straw-covered roofs and brightly painted facades.
Even before I moved to Madeira,I wanted to make a painting of these houses,that reminded me of "Wizard of OZ" country.
Now it is a tourist attraction,but long time ago people in Santana were living in the houses like this one.

Madeira has many micro climates,and if you travel outside of Funchal or Calheta,you might need a jacket or a raincoat ,especially in the winter season.
Layers usually work the best.

PONTE DA SAO LORENZO



Ponte da Sao Lorenzo is one of the most beautiful places in Madeira. Lots of tourists make a point to visit this place during their trip to the island.You can park your car and walk for a couple of hours to the very end of the peninsula,however,I have not done this yet .
This is one of the first landscape paintings I have painted in Madeira.
